Measure the results and iterate.
Execution
- Write in interlinkable clusters so you can start building context right away
- Focus on topics you genuinely enjoy to help you stay motivated to continue to write
- Publish as soon as you're finished, and don't worry about publishing in batches
- Don't get hung up waiting to reach "magic numbers"! The best time to start is always now
Iteration
- Configure Goals in your analytics tool and see which traffic sources and articles convert best
- Talk to subscribers to understand better who they are and what they're looking for on your website. If you set up a good welcome email, people are going to reply to it. And you'll be able to better understand who your readers actually are and what their goals are. And it might be different than you think.
- Watch Google Search Console and keep an eye on the terms you're starting to rank for.
- Improve and link to old articles as you find on-page and content improvements. See your blog as a digital garden that you keep up to date. It's not a publication where you just publish something and leave it forever.
