Modeling

Like a scientist, we first build simple models for our idea. Simple models, like the Lean Canvas, the Traction Roadmap, and the Customer Factory, help align the entire team around key assumptions, goals, and constraints that shape the 90-day cycle objectives.

Modeling: align on goals, assumptions, and constraints

Prioritizing

The team then formulates and pitches possible campaigns for meeting the 90-day cycle objectives.

A campaign pitch summarizes:

We can’t work on all campaigns and so the team votes on the most promising one or two campaigns to take on during each 90-day cycle.

Modeling and Prioritizing can typically be achieved during the first 2-week sprint in the 90-Day cycle.

Unlike traditional requirements gathering, the goal here isn’t striving for fully baked plans, but rather making bets on promising campaigns.

The rest of the 90-day cycle, made up of 5 sprints, are used for testing and refining these bets.

Prioritizing: place bets on your most promising campaigns
